More & More uploading :)

I've been scanning some off my sketchbooks today and found some curious imagery. a wasp having a breakdown moment, some paranormal spinnign tops dancing in a cloud of starling birds.

These are some Images that i created by attaching a bin lid to a power drill and using drawing inks and watered down acrylics, making long and unpredictable trails.

Some Dope Pieces.

These are from the little white wedding book, and my life cycles graphics book

the below is a gold card of my mate T hood up and high. it is a very effective image in the context of drug usage, looking isolated and disenchanted.

Nature in London

I thought I'd upload this quickly, its from up in the Tate Modern, i really wish i could remember the Artist, but basically... its 2 man made tree that have been carved in stunning detail out of large timber beams... I think it is a amazing piece simply because it i symbolic of people escaping consumerist society, and trying to revert back to nature. which can be a long and extensive process.

Which is why find images like this interesting, i took this from just behind parliamentary gardens, as you can see in the far distance the Chard, I find it fascinating the way that the clouds have settled so low around the tallest building in the capital; Whereas in the foreground the trees being so insignificant against the buildings facing them.

These are a couple of pictures i took during the turner Prize this year of a Spartacus Chadwick performance piece, which i find connect to this idea very well the top image captures a naturalistic dreadlocked creature engaging a crowd of modern art students; to they're amusement and to its fascination

The below can be interpreted as nature and colourful and playful society hand in hand.

Something to be idolised

And this other is a shot of me playing guitar in a beekeeping suit...

was pretty fun

working progress

A terrible photo, yes... but i and enjoying the way i have captured the motion in the spinning tops.
Uploading some photos of some class work, focusing on movement in spinning tops originally and now developing into investigation of chaos theory

this is where i m at currently, around 25" tall, made of a translucent plastic and designed to be similar to a shower and looking at the chaotic and unpredictable movement of water it am currently adding g texture to the inside with a glue gun to trap the water and then i will add food colouring for different effects.

A tale of Cheddar Valley's

I Thought I'd upload a page from my Little White Wedding Sketchbook, the image was based on a valley in the Cheddar Gorge, and somewhere below all those oil paints and various other material is a fairly detailed tonal Biro. However... that's boring; so i decided to brighten up the trail that my little doppelganger is walking along, into a more ENJoYable scene.

Based around when i was sent to Bible camp when i was younger, they're is a dictating depiction of my dad far over the horizon a turned back...yet still occupying my surroundings; ENJoY? instead of taking away a appreciation for "THE BOOK." I came away with nothing other than, a further realisation that Christians do anything to justify a good full of fancy fairytale, a week spent in the middle of nowhere and further developed ability to have to amuse myself by drifting into my own thoughts to escape bible thumping and general knowledge ignoring people.

The experience can be describes as pointless as a game of ten pin bowling, throwing yourself at a crowd idea, and even when you hit them all down, they always get back up "for" you...
I HAVE ALWAYS ENJOYED BOWLING THOUGH.
This was the inside cover from that same book, full of ideas that pop into my head at 00:00-06:00am mainly,

and a couple stoner doodles here and their.

oh and i love this image, i took it from a graphic project at college, it was a fun photo shoot to get that composition to work from.

Tuesday 20 November 2012

This is one of the many peice that I created during my First year of collge, which was a time when lacking inspiration and motivation was my standard behaviour, simply because their where many things playing on my mind, mind altering substances being the most common.

But even though this is a empty Peice in meaning and concept, other than being based on architecture, I am still impressed with the type of imagery i took away from this, and this is most likley the first time i created a 3d Peice with no teacher pushing and shoving me in the "right" direction which is what i received at school once i left the 2Dimentional Medias.
Made simply from Standard Greycard scouerd and shaped into intresting positions that flowed out of me, creating a bold and chaotic composition that I could work from,

the right model is the original attempt and you are seeing it from a above veiw.

The left is the peice that i made to support the componant peice and my favourite of the two.

when the two are conjoined they turn from intresting models into a a structural peice that has a organic feel around it. and if was to be replicated on a larger scale would be a overbaring and absorbing sculpture.

When this image is photographed closely once i had attacked it with a selection of spray paints it reminds me of a Frank Stella work, the way in which he worked out of a canvas with strips of material, they're some decent effects created by using a glue gun to connect areas together and letting paints settle.

That Awkward Introduction

Starting a blog is something i have no experience with, but after a couple of months of attempting to help my Tutor with her fashion students blog; i have decide to make record of my intrests etc.etc...

I have no idea what will be the results, I like to think it wont become a dribbling messy excuse of "self expression"
I am currently studying Fine Art in my second year of college, and am now in a much more... Sober; place and maybe i can get this to stick.

I think that my earliest realization that i have a genuine intrest i art was when i saw Francis Bacon Pope Innocente X Velázquez Comparison. By dedicating this painting to an old master Bacon emphasizes, I beleive... his true feeling towards this "Unknowingly" evil man. Velázquez was a master of representation and of documentation, Bacon on the other hand opened a third possibility for the development of painting beyond pure representation or pure abstraction.
And this introduction i beleive to be some kind of love at first sight, as i have always been intrested by the hypocracys of relgion in general and this has been some thing that always plays on my mind, along with modern consumerist culture, drug use and ironys in society.
